Pelvic Floor Weakness .. or is it?

. . . . . . . . .

If you’ve been trying “everything” including Kegels and other core exercise programs, but nothing is really working, or perhaps things are becoming worse, then its possible that these approaches are missing the “foundation work” that your body needs in order to function properly and move forwards.

Your body can become stronger.

Some of the symptoms which you may be experiencing which indicate that your body needs some attention are:-

“leaks” – no matter how small leaks are, they generally only go in one direction if not addressed
“urgency” – needing to pee right now!
“stress incontinence” – the body is not currently able to manage the pressure of lifting, running or the archetypal trampoline – or similar
feeling of pressure – pressure, pain or discomfort in the abdominal and or pelvic area
a core that feels weak and unstable – this may show up as lower back weakness or vulnerability, weak abdominals or hip pain
diastasis or a lower abdominal tummy that won’t tighten and tone
bloating, constipation or discomfort after eating
tension in the back, hips or the SI joint at the base of the spine
a waistline that feels wider than you’d like, or your abdominal area feels bloated no matter how much you work out

These symptoms are rarely about weakness alone and are usually driven by:-

mismanaged pressure within the body – over time the body undergoes changes depending on lifestyle and age

excess tension and over-recruitment of muscles; gripping muscles or straining

poor co-ordination between the diaphragm, abdominals, fascia and pelvic floor

organs that have been compressed over time due to poor posture, injury or surgical interventions

a nervous system that is stuck in “fight or flight” for much of the time

fluid intake of the right kind

nutritional imbalances

poor sleep routines

Pelvic Floor Weakness .. or is it?
Pelvic Floor Weakness .. or is it?

Through my ELEVATE program, I will give you the pathway forwards with careful guidance, beginning by releasing tension in the body that is keeping your pelvic floor overloaded.

We restore breathing mechanics through breath work so that your system works properly
In turn this will help to decompress pressure in the thoracic, abdominal and pelvic spaces and then we retrain the core to activate properly  as a “reflex” without the need to grip or strain.
