I teach Hypopressives Exercises to clients who have come to the technique, in the main, because of pelvic floor problems such as pelvic organ prolapse, incontinence (or leaks), bloating, a feeling of heaviness, digestive issues and for pre and post natal health. Most of these clients have tried other ways to get around their symptoms but without any success or real benefits.
Through Hypopressives Exercises, most of my clients who are consistent with their practice, are experiencing and enjoying what they describe as “life-transforming” results.
It is very often the small things that hold us back such as:-
being pre-occupied with knowing where a loo is when you go out
avoiding situations where you may leak such as lifting, laughing, coughing, sneezing or worse still for the body is that you “brace” when this happens
that feeling of heaviness and discomfort in the vagina – perhaps more so at the end of the day when the body is tired
no longer participating in exercise that involves running or jumping or vigorous movement that may mean discomfort or leaks
no longer lifting, gardening, pushing, pulling – just in case
concerned about back health
diastasis recti – the natural separation of the abdominal wall muscles that haven’t gone back to normal after pregnancy
and the list could continue…but the point is, that after a few weeks or months (depending on each individual human being) of a consistent practice, many of the above situations no longer exist or reduce dramatically.
I see clients getting their lives back through Hypopressives; restoring pelvic health function, being able to breathe fully, enabling a stronger core, digestive issues on the mend, an improved and functional bowel and bladder that can withstand the normal pressures of life, improved sex life, confidence and self esteem.
