Prioritise: Set aside time; diarise your workout as though you are scheduled to meet your personal trainer
Don’t shortcut: just because no one is watching, still put in 100% effort as though your personal trainer was there with you!
Don’t rush your workout: you won’t achieve the same benefits by rushing – including the benefits of the mental space that you will get by taking exercise and time out for your mind.
Keep checking your form and listen to the cues from your instructor: the cues are there to help you get the most out of your workout. Listen to them and pay attention to your form and alignment. Take time to set up the body before your next move
Engage the core: this is super important – not only will you strengthen the core but you will protect your body and you will use the muscles in the way that they are intended to be used – one of the reasons why we do Pilates is to use the right muscles to do the right jobs – the brain and body retrain!
